Advocates for Animals

UK organisation campaigning against animal abuse and encouraging people to change their relationship with animals from one of exploitation/harm to one of respect and compassion.  They promote the protection of animals through investigations, campaigns, and public education.

Animal Aid
Campaigns against animal abuse, and promotes a cruelty-free lifestyle. The Education Department runs a free school speakers service, plus offering a range of materials for teachers and pupils.  Resources include videos/DVDs, Student Activities (lesson plans and worksheets), factsheets and information booklets, campaign leaflets and posters. Most of these are free to teachers.

Animal Club

Animals in Mind (AiM)

Caring Fields Animal Sanctuary
The Education Center hosts a variety of customized humane education programs for children and seminars for adults, for free or at low costs. More than 6,000 people were reached through Caring Fields education programs in the first 18 months following the opening of the education center in 2006.

Cats Protection

Dogs Trust
UK’s largest dog welfare charity. This site has a variety of downloadable resources linked to the National Curriculum. Humane Teen

Marine Conservation Society (MCS)

The Monkey Sanctuary
For over 40 years, the Monkey Sanctuary in south eastern England has worked to promote the welfare, conservation and survival of South American primates. They aim to end the primate trade and abuse of captive primates, as well as promote the rehabilitation of captive primates and preservation of wild primates. Voiceless, the fund for animals
Voiceless is a non profit Australian organisation established in May 2004 by father and daughter team Brian and Ondine Sherman. To build and fortify the animal protection movement, Voiceless:
- gives grants to key projects which create the groundswell for social change;
- cultivates the animal law community through the provision of leadership, educational opportunities and resources; and

White Cross Animal Protection Society
The White Cross is a small, nonprofit organization run entirely by volunteers in Budapest since 1991. They focus on finding homes for hundreds of companion animals. They also have an educational programme, Animal Friends Club, and they provide presentations for children ages 6-12 in elementary schools. The programmes are free and available in both English and Hungarian, and more than 8,000 children have participated in the program so far.
