Dog in a classroom full of childrenWelcome to the International Animal Welfare Education (‘IN AWE’) Programme initiated by the World Society for the Protection of Animals (WSPA). Here you will find information about global animal welfare education programmes, resources, methodology and partners that work with WSPA.

Could you become a partner with us?

One of the best ways to address the mistreatment of animals is through improving human understanding of and attitudes towards them. Whilst WSPA works across the education spectrum (eg university students studying veterinary and other animal science courses) the ‘IN AWE’ Programme is for the 5-16 age range: school children, teachers, teacher trainers and curriculum developers.

Working with governments, teachers and some Member Societies, WSPA helps embed animal welfare into the school curriculum of several countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America. Using our global network of animal welfare organisations we work to extend the full range of humane education resources across the globe.
